The Passover: Jesus Death On The Cross |
Leviticus 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S Passover. Jesus was nailed to the cross at the third hour (9 am) and died at the 9th hour 3 p.m.). The exact times of the morning and evening sacrifices. 1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. |
The feast Of Unleavened Bread: Jesus Sinless Life |
Leviticus 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. Seven, God's perfect number. Leaven/unleavened 1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Leaven = malice and wickedness: also Luke 12:1 Jesus was without sin. Hebrews 4:15 ...was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. |
The Offering Of First fruits:- Jesus Resurrection |
Leviticus 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. 1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept. |
Pentecost: Jesus Return To Heaven |
Holy Spirit poured upon His people. Deuteronomy 16:9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn. Deuteronomy 16:10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Acts 2-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

NOTE: |
All the annual feasts were prophetic as well as typical. While the Passover lamb, slain each year, was a shadow of "Christ our Passover," who was sacrificed for us, the fact that the lamb could be slain only on the fourteenth day of the month Abib, was a prophecy that the anti typical Passover lamb would yield up His life for the sins of the world on the fourteenth day of Abib. One unanswerable argument that Jesus is the Messiah, is that He died upon the cross the very day , and the time of day, that God had said the Passover lamb should be slain (1 Corinthians. 5:7); and He came forth from the dead the same day of the month, that the first fruits had been waved for centuries (Col. 1:18). God Himself, definitely fixed the date for the celebration of each of the annual offerings. The day of the year when the annual offering was to be celebrated, was a direct prophecy of the time when the type would meet its antitype. |

Leviticus 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. |
Ongoing Now, Yet To Be Completed: |

(see "The 2300 day/year prophecy") Hebrews 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. Hebrews 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchesidec. Hebrews 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchesidec. |
Feast Of Tabernacles: Church Is Clean, Living Without A Mediator |

To Be Fulfilled — Revelation 7:1-8 |
Revelation 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. Ezekiel 9:11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me. |
Note: |
Each Year The services Of The Sanctuary, both the daily and the yearly, were a prophecy of the heavenly sanctuary ministry of Jesus Christ. Each feast was a prophecy of what was to happen. The Spring feasts pointed to what was to happen at His first coming, the Autumn feasts to what is to happen at His second coming. |

The Altar of Sacrifice was the first article of furniture inside the gate of the court. It was constructed of Brass, which was pure copper and Tin (not zinc as is used today). The Symbolism: The altar was a symbol of the cross. (It is where the sacrifices were made, all of which symbolized the death of Jesus on the cross) The copper represented the purity of Jesus and the tin represented our sin, the two metals being melded into one symbolized the melding of Christ's divine nature with our human nature. Isaiah

The laver was made from the looking

The Candlestick was made of pure gold, beaten.
The Symbolism: The gold symbolized Christ's Purity and the gold was beaten in to shape as Christ was beaten. Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. |

Exodus 30:7,8 This overlaying of pure gold symbolizes the righteousness of Christ covering our sinfulness. The incense symbolized the prayers of the saints mingled with the righteousness of Jesus Revelation 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. Revelation 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. |

In the inner apartment was the ark, which was the most sacred object connected with that system of worship. It was a chest of precious wood, overlaid within and without with pure gold, and having a crown of gold about the top. In the ark were placed the tables of stone upon which God had engraved with his own finger the ten commandments. It was made expressly for this purpose, and hence was called the ark of the covenant, and the ark of the testament, since the ten commandments were God's covenant, and the basis of the covenant made between God and Israel. The pure gold which covered the ark, "within and without", symbolized the righteousness of Jesus which replaces our sinful selves when God views us, He sees only the righteousness of Jesus when we accept Him as our Saviour. Pure Gold symbolized Christ's righteousness and purity (which may be ours when we come to Him and forsake all for Him.) Without this we cannot be saved. Malachi 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Shittim or acacia wood symbolized our righteousness, which is as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. |

Gold: This most precious metal was the most used metal in the construction of the sanctuary. The walls Exodus 26:29, the Mercy Seat and the angels Exodus 25:17-18, the Ark of the Covenant Exodus 25:10-11, the Altar of incense Exodus 30:1-3, the Table of Shewbread Exodus 25:23-24 and the Candlestick Exodus 25:31, the spoons, tongs, snuffdishes etc...Exodus 25:29, for embroidery work for the gold on the high priests ephod see Exodus 39:2-3] were either made of shittim wood plated with pure gold, were of beaten pure gold or solid pure gold. The Symbolism: Symbolizes heavenly riches, faith and love the precious, beautiful attributes of our Redeemer. Revelation 3:17-18 The heavenly riches being the opposite of earthly riches these riches do not consist of having much of this worlds goods. Also see the story of the rich young ruler who was admonished by Jesus to sell all that he had and give to the poor, then he would have treasure in heaven. Luke 18:22 |

Silver: This precious metal was used for the sockets under the boards Exodus 26:21, the sockets for the pillars for the curtain between the Holy and the Most Holy places Exodus 26:32, for the hooks and the fillets in the pillars of the court Exodus 27:17. The Symbolism: It was used as tribute or ransom money Exodus 30:12-13; 1 Kings 20:39, Leviticus 27:3-6 Jesus paid the ransom price for us when He took our sins upon Himself Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; 1 Timothy 2:6 In Proverbs 10:20 states "The tongue of the just is as choice silver", and also 30 pieces of silver was the price paid to Judas for identifying Jesus to the Jews Matthew 26:15. |

Bronze: This was a combination of two metals, copper and tin. It was used in the construction of the Altar of Burnt Offering (or Sacrifice) Exodus 30:39, the laver Exodus 30:18 and the pillars, pins and the sockets of the court Ex 20:10, also the sockets for the pillars of the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle itself Exodus 38:18-19. All the the instruments for the Altar of Sacrifice were also made of brass Exodus 20:18-19. The Symbolism: As this was a melding together of two metals (copper and tin) we need to look at both of these for the symbolic meaning. Fine copper was classed as being as precious as gold Ezra 8:27, therefore its symbolic meaning is the same as gold, which is faith and love, heavenly riches. In Isaiah 1:24-25 the Lord says that He will "take away all thy tin" and as he will be taking away our sin this gives the symbolism of tin as sin. When Jesus came to this world He combined His divine nature with our human nature so that they could not be separated (as the two metals in brass can not be separated). He was fully divine and fully human (copper=divine nature; tin=human nature). |
